The LabPlus Call Centre operates from 0700 to 1900 hrs Monday to Friday
and 0800 to 1200 hrs on Saturdays.
Outside of these hours the automated answering service connects callers
to the laboratory of their choice.
The call centre is staffed by four full-time people.
Many of the calls received are to request a Laboratory test result.
If this is not yet available staff can assist in finding out when it
will be ready. All the core call centre staff have extensive medical
laboratory or similar experience, hence are able to help with a wide
range of other queries, e.g. tests available, turnaround times, specimen
requirements and special collection conditions.
If more specialised information is required, or clinical
interpretation and advice necessary, the Call Centre staff will refer
the caller to an appropriate clinically trained staff member. |
