Axe the Fax - Faxing will be discontinued from 26 March 2021

LabPLUS will no longer have the capability to send or receive faxes from 26 March 2021.

As a referrer, if faxing is the only way you have been receiving results, you will be required to provide us with an email address (instructions below).

Using TESTSAFE, RCP/Results Repository or a Patient Management System (PMS) is the recommended safest way for a referrer to receive patient results.

We do not wish to simply swap faxing for email unless there is no better electronic alternative.

All results that are deemed critical and required immediate action will continue to be phoned through to the referrer. All results will be available in TESTSAFE and the referrers PMS as soon as they are available.

It is the responsibility of the referrer to check results on a regular and timely basis.

What do referrers need to do next?

  • If a referrer has access to TESTSAFE, RCP/Results Repository or a Patient Management System (PMS), no action is required.
  • If you currently only receive results via fax, you will need to setup an email address.
  • To set up email addresses please follow this link to the update request form and provide the required details: Update to reporting details request form.(external link) Please send the completed form back to LabLink@adhb.govt.nz
  • LabPLUS takes no responsibility for emailed results that are not checked by referrers.

Referrers Unable to Access TESTSAFE or Electronic Reports

Paper copies wiil be the default until the referrers have access to electronic result messaging via TESTSAFE or HL7 messaging into a PMS.
